New York-Day 1

We took the red eye flight Saturday night from Salt Lake to JFK. I thought that flying through the night would be easier on all of us especially Colt....thinking we could sleep. Well Miss Jocee slept the whole flight, as for the rest of us it was a long 5 hours! Colt was great on the plane he just couldn't fall asleep. I finally resorted to playing his Jewell CD (I really should write her a letter and tell her my son loves to listen to her!) Then he finally fell asleep for the last hour and half of the flight. We were greeted in NYC by Cherie and her sweet neighbor Hans who got up at 4AM to come with her to the airport and assist in getting two old ladies, two middle aged gals and one popular boy and all of there junk to Cherie's. Sad to say to but all of us and our junk filled up two mid sized SUV's..Yikes We drove to Cherie's which is about 45 minutes from the airport, got settled in and then crashed for a few hours. While Colt and I were still sleeping everyone else headed to the Rockland Bakery, which was apparently amazing. You could go in and actually pick your breads and other goodies right off the conveyor. Once they got back from the bakery, we all put on our swimming suits and headed to the pool. Only to find out the water was way to cold to swim! But some of Cherie's neighbors were there playing cards, so we joined in. And then we heard it.........THE ICE CREAM TRUCK!!! There is a ice cream truck that comes into the neighborhood everyday in the summer. It even plays the music! So we all headed out to get a cone. Thanks Hans for the treat! Colt couldn't figure out why we were all so excited until the guy handed out the first cone. Then he was in heaven and he just moved from person to person eating there ice cream. After the pool we headed back to the house and had a little BBQ with Hans & Bobbie. After dinner we went with Cherie to take Lucy on a walk and I made them stop to take a picture, well I made them stop and then a huge dog started barking and growling in a car right next to them....hence the scared looks on all of their faces... Me & my little man :)
